Movember Short Film

Wow this year is flying by! It is the month of November and that means Movember! It’s a really important fundraiser in aid of men’s health and I like to support it.

Philip Bloom has been running the film competition for a few years now and in 2014 I decided to enter and TASH is the result of it!

I spent a few weeks thinking about ideas and couldn’t think of what to do in just a minute, the time constraint. Friends of mine were doing a play on World War 2 and had costumes to hand, so I decided to incorporate them into my film which would add great production value. It narrowed down my mindset and made it easier to come up with an concept. Idea in mind, I went about finding someone with a moustache, I can’t really grow a good one myself, how ironic! I listed for an actor on a few websites, but ended up finding someone close to where I live, that had a moustache he was growing for a theatre production. It was perfect timing!

I had managed to get woods close to a friends house, so we could run power cables to power a 2K fresnel. We filmed TASH in about 4 hours and had great fun!

Making a very short film like this for a deadline is really good, helps you get out there and create. Kyle the main actor, is now a good friend of mine and starring in my latest project: Shotgun Mike
